With the 2010 season now in the books, CFN's SEC Bloggers mete out their recognition

Some observations on the results…

LSU had the most First Team players at six. However, factoring out Special Teams, Auburn led the way with four, followed by South Carolina, LSU and Arkansas with three each. There were 13 unanimous First Team votes (six offense, seven defense), and interestingly, all four First Team linebackers were unanimous decisions. Ole Miss and Tennessee were the only teams not to have a First Team player.

For First and Second Team players, LSU led the way with eight, followed by Auburn, Arkansas and Alabama with seven, and Georgia with six. There were three unanimous decisions for second team (Arkansas’ Ryan Mallett and LSU’s Stevan Ridley on offense, and Arkansas’ Tramain Thomas on defense). Tennessee was the only team not to have a First or Second Team player.

As expected, there was quite a lot of overlap after the Second Team, so we have honorable mention for those names we felt warranted special recognition.

Unanimous votes are identified by an asterisk. Vote total in parenthesis.
