Best Game of the Season
Sept. 30 at Oklahoma State 38 … Texas A&M 35
Texas A&M gained 535 yards of total offense and dominated the fourth quarter and was driving for an apparent shot to break the 35-35 tie, but Oklahoma State came up with its fifth turnover of the night as Shaun Lewis picked off a Jerrod Johnson pass and took it to the Aggie 40. Two plays later, Dan Bailey nailed a 40-yard field goal for the win. Johnson threw five touchdown passes including two in the first half to Jeff Fuller and two in the fourth quarter, but he also threw four picks and dropped the ball leading to a James Thomas 63-yard fumble return for a score and a 14-point OSU lead in the fourth quarter. Down 21-7 after the first half, the Cowboys scored 28 straight points with Kendall Hunter scoring from two and seven yards out, and Justin Blackmon catching a 29-yard scoring pass before the A&M offense took over the game. The two teams combined for 886 yards, 16 penalties, and eight turnovers.
