Best Game of the Season
Dec 4 Connecticut 19 … at South Florida 16
Connecticut earned a spot in the BCS as Dave Taggart nailed his fourth field goal of the game, hitting a bomb from 52 yards away with 17 seconds to play. The Huskies didn’t come up with an offensive touchdown as Lawrence Wilson took an interception 55 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, and Taggart added a 22-yarder in the third for a 13-3 lead. Down 16-6, USF rallied with a 28-yard Dontavia Bogan touchdown catch and moved deep into UConn territory late, but the Huskies held to allow only a 22-yard field goal to tie it with 1:16 to play, but a big kickoff return and a short field gave Taggart his chance. USF outgained UConn 333 yards to 232.
