The stars didn't exactly come out and shine, with Cam Newton and LaMichael James not coming up with big games, but there were plenty of fantastic performances from some unlikely sources. 49. Nevada WR Rishard Matthews caught seven passes for 86 yards and a score, and he returned four punts for 72 yards and a score in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl win over Boston College.

48. Troy WR Tebiarus Gill caught four passes for 80 yards and three scores in the New Orleans Bowl win over Ohio.

47. Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor completed 14-of-25 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns, and ran 15 times for 115 yards in the Sugar Bowl win over Arkansas.

46. Alabama QB Greg McElroy completed 13-of-17 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown in three quarters in the Capital One Bowl win over Michigan State.

45. UTEP WR Kris Adams caught three passes for 153 yards and three touchdowns in the New Mexico Bowl loss to BYU.

44. Florida S Ahmad Black led the team with six tackles with two broken up passes, a tackle for loss, and two interceptions with one for a game-sealing score in the Outback Bowl win over Penn State.

43. TCU SS Colin Jones made a game-leading ten tackles with a sack and two broken up passes in the Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin.

42. LSU CB Tyrann Mathieu made seven tackles with a sack, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and an interception. He would’ve scored on his pick, but it was called back on a roughing penalty in the Cotton Bowl win over Texas A&M.

41. Hawaii WR Greg Salas caught 13 passes for 214 yards and two scores in the Hawaii Bowl loss to Tulsa.

40. Air Force DE Rick Ricketts led the team with ten tackles with a sack in the Independence Bowl win over Georgia Tech.

39. Northern Illinois DE Jake Coffman made six tackles with three sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss in the Humanitarian Bowl win over Fresno State.

38. Georgia LB/DE Justin Houston didn’t register a sack, but he led the Bulldogs with ten tackles in the Liberty Bowl loss to UCF.

37. Tulsa WR/RB Damaris Johnson became the NCAA’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards after running five times for a team-leading 98 yards and a score, catching four passes for a team-leading 101 yards and a score, returning five kickoffs for 109 yards, and a punt for 18 yards. In all he accounted for 326 yards in the Hawaii Bowl win over Hawaii.

36. UCF S Kemal Ishmael made 11 tackles with two broken up passes in the Liberty Bowl win over Georgia.

35. Boise State QB Kellen Moore completed 28-of-38 passes for 339 yards and a touchdown with an interception in the Las Vegas Bowl win over Utah.

34. Tulsa QB G.J. Kinne completed 17-of-31 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns in the Hawaii Bowl win over Hawaii.

33. Missouri LT Elvis Fisher held Iowa’s Adrian Clayborn to just one tackle in the Insight Bowl loss to Iowa.

32. Toledo RB Adonis Thomas ran 24 times for 193 yards and two scores in the Little Caesars Bowl loss to FIU.

31. Iowa CB Micah Hyde made six tackles with a 72-yard interception return for the game-winning score in the Insight Bowl win over Missouri.

30. Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles caught 13 passes for 170 yards and a score, and he returned five punts for 92 yards in the Fiesta Bowl win over Connecticut.

29. Washington LB Mason Foster led all defenders with 12 tackles with two sacks, three tackles for loss, and a broken up pass in the Holiday Bowl win over Nebraska.

28. Illinois QB Nathan Scheelhaase completed 18-of-23 passes for 242 yards, and he ran nine times for 53 yards and a score in the Texas Bowl win over Baylor.

27. Auburn RB Michael Dyer ran 22 times for 143 yards in the BCS Championship win over Oregon.

26. TCU LB Tank Carder made six tackles with a sack, three tackles for loss, and batted down the two point conversion attempt that would’ve tied the game with two minutes to play in the Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin.

25. Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon caught nine passes for 117 yards and two scores in the Alamo Bowl win over Arizona.

24. Northwestern QB Quentin Davie made 15 tackles and two tackles for loss in the TicketCity Bowl loss to Texas Tech.

23. Maryland RB Da’Rel Scott ran 13 times for 200 yards and two scores in the Military Bowl win over East Carolina.

22. Boston College LB Luke Kuechly led all defenders with 12 tackles with an interception in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl loss to Nevada.

21. Syracuse RB Delone Carter ran 27 times for 198 yards and two scores in the Pinstripe Bowl win over Kansas State.

20. Kentucky LB Danny Trevathan led all defenders with 12.5 tackles, 11 solo in the BBVA Compass loss to Pitt.

19. Illinois RB Mikel Leshoure ran 29 times for 184 yards and three scores, and he caught two passes for 21 yards in the Texas Bowl win over Baylor.

18. Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert completed 41-of-57 passes for 434 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions in the Insight Bowl loss to Iowa.

17. North Carolina LB Quan Sturdivant made a team-leading 12 tackles with a sack, two tackles for loss, a broken up pass, and with an overtime interception in the Music City Bowl win over Tennessee.

16. TCU QB Andy Dalton completed 15-of-23 passes for 219 yards and a score, and he led the team with 28 rushing yards and a score on nine carries in the Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin.

15. Washington RB Chris Polk ran 34 times for 177 yards and a score and caught two passes for 22 yards in the Holiday Bowl win over Nebraska.

14. Army LB Stephen Anderson made 14 tackles with an interception, half a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss in the Armed Forces Bowl win over SMU.

9. Texas Tech QB Taylor Potts completed 43-of-56 passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns with an interception, and he ran twice for 19 yards and a score in the TicketCity Bowl win over Northwestern.

8. Stanford QB Andrew Luck completed 18-of-23 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns with an interception, and he ran four times for 15 yards in the Orange Bowl win over Virginia Tech.

7. Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith made seven tackles and three first half interceptions in the Sun Bowl win over Miami.

6. Troy QB Corey Robinson completed 32-of-42 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns in the New Orleans Bowl win over Ohio.

5. Oklahoma QB Landry Jones completed 34-of-49 passes for a Sooner bowl record 429 yards and three touchdowns with an interception in the Fiesta Bowl win over Connecticut.

4. Northern Illinois QB Chandler Harnish completed 17-of-26 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown, and he ran ten times for 72 yards and two scores in the Humanitarian Bowl win over Fresno State.
