Anyone under 1,300 SAT and unwilling to drop $200,000 need not apply. Northwestern has been busy trying to build up its national profile. It announced a future series with Notre Dame last week, and now the school has announced a four-game series with Stanford starting in 2019 in Evanston.

- UMass To Join MAC

The Mid-American Conference announced on Wednesday that the University of Massachusetts will be the league's 14th football member and able to win the MAC title game in 2013, and will be a part of the FBS and will play a league slate.

"We feel the time is right for this landmark decision of UMass football elevating to the FBS level," said University of Massachusetts Athletic Director John McCutcheon.

At the moment, there are seven teams in the MAC East (Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Kent State, Miami, Ohio and Temple) and six in the West (Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Toledo, and Western Michigan), but there could be some movement to add UMass to the East to make geographic sense.
