Q: Is the offense going to be more explosive and more Texas Tech-like this year? Is there any buzz around there about moving out of the WAC?
From Jason Jones, HereComeTheDawgs.com
… The offense will be more explosive for more than one reason. Former Michigan State receiver Myles White and fellow J.C. transfer Quinton Patton have really impressed with their speed. The quarterbacks have a year of experience in the system, and Lennon Creer will draw plenty of attention from opposing defenses.
Tech fans like to debate Tech's future when it comes to conference affiliation. With Boise, Fresno, Nevada, and Hawaii all leaving the conference; Louisiana Tech has an opportunity to become the front runner for the league crown each year. The WAC might not be a bad option with Texas San-Antonio and Texas State coming in.
As far as what to watch out for, I'm looking for the secondary to come together. Chad Boyd and Javantay Crowe have experience, but two cornerbacks will have to emerge if the Bulldogs are going to slow down any offense in the WAC. Former Auburn cornerback Ryan Williams has had a great camp and looks to be Tech's number one at that position.
