Three Biggest Surprises
1. Kansas State. Beyond the fact the league is still in existence, Kansas State is the biggest shocker in college football this year with the Wildcats 6-0 with thrilling wins over Miami, Missouri, and Baylor.
2. The conference might be the best in the country from top to bottom. It's not as top-heavy as the SEC, but Kansas and Iowa State aren't that bad on the bottom and the other eight teams are all playing well.
3. Justin Blackmon isn't the league's best receiver … and that's not a bad thing. The reigning Biletnikoff winner has been excellent, but Baylor's Kendall Wright, Texas A&M's Ryan Swope, and Oklahoma's Ryan Broyles have led the way for a loaded year for Big 12 receivers.

Three Biggest Disappointments
1. Missouri. The talent is there to be a Big 12 title contender, but the defense has failed at key times, the consistency hasn't been there on offense, and PK Grant Ressel has been stunningly average, hitting just 8-of-15 field goals.
2. The Texas pass rush. Was it all Will Muschamp? The ultra-talented Longhorn defense is averaging just 1.23 sacks and 4.83 tackles for loss per game.
3. Texas A&M's collapses. Had it been able to do something, anything, in the secondary, the Aggies would've beaten Oklahoma State and Arkansas and would've been in the national title chase.

The Big 12 Champion Will Be ... Oklahoma

Three Best Performances So Far
1. Baylor QB Robert Griffin III completed 21-of-27 passes for 359 yards and five touchdowns, and he ran ten times for 38 yards, in the 50-48 win over TCU.
2. Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill completed 25-of-37 passes for 415 yards and six touchdowns with a pick, and WR Ryan Swope caught 11 passes for 206 yards and four scores, in the win over Baylor.
Iowa State QB Steele Jantz completed 25-of-37 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns, and he ran 16 times for 42 yards in the overtime win over Iowa.
3. Texas Tech QB Seth Doege completed 40-of-44 passes, a NCAA record 90%, for 401 yards and five scores in the win over New Mexico.

RB Malcolm Brown, Texas

3 Big Calls For The Second Half
1. Kansas State will prove it's the real deal. It's not going to finish unbeaten, but it'll show that the first half wasn't a fluke. The date with Oklahoma in Manhattan might be the Sooners' big loss.
2. Texas will get blown out by Texas A&M and will need to beat Baylor to go bowling.
3. There won't be a Big 12 team in the national championship.
