Random Acts of Nutty … Provocative musings and tidbits to make every woman want you and every man want to be you (or vice versa) a.k.a. things I didn’t feel like writing bigger blurbs for.

- After Russell Wilson’s success transferring to Wisconsin, Bret Bielema should sell former Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist on the idea of trying to step in right away next year, and he should check with former BYU quarterback Jake Heaps – who has to sit out a year – to see if he had any interest in being the 2013 starter.

- Speaking of the Badgers, again, how did the sports info department not send out a promotional ball for Montee?

- Chris Petersen, you can’t refuse to politic and self-promote when it comes to talking about the BCS and the national title, and then get mad when Boise State isn’t even on the table for an at-large bid.

- If you’re Petersen, Nick Saban, or any coach with a vote in the coaches’ poll, and with a dog in the BCS fight, you’re nuts if you don’t vote your team No. 1, Florida Atlantic No. 2, UAB No. 3, Indiana No. 4, and Akron No. 5.

C.O.W. shameless gimmick item … The weekly five Overrated/Underrated aspects of the world
1) Overrated: Landry Jones’ draft status … Underrated: Robert Griffin’s draft status
2) Overrated: Mike Leach at Washington State … Underrated: Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss
3) Overrated: Les Miles’ “damn strong” 2007 team ... Underrated: Les Miles’ dominant 2011 team
4) Overrated: Penn State going bowling ... Underrated: Miami choosing to stay home
5) Overrated: “There are too many bowls” ... Underrated: December 17, 2011, Gildan New Mexico Bowl, Temple vs. Wyoming

“If it were me, I'd bet everything. But that's me. I'm an aggressive gambler. Mr. Vegas. Come on. Go for it. Go for it. Yes, yes, there we go. I'm in.”

1) Navy -7 over Army
- Record So Far: 19-7 SU, 17-9 ATS

Sorry this column sucked, it wasn’t my fault … Everything was working. The column was unstoppable and just needed one more shot, but I inexplicably ordered the punt block and blew a chance to go to Pasadena.
