Q: Are things are improving in any way under David Cutcliffe?

From John Watson, http://duke.scout.com … Things are definitely improving under Coach Cutcliffe. Despite not yet qualifying for the postseason, the Blue Devils have been competitive throughout the entirety of the ACC regular season and have actually won some games during his tenure. Were it not for a string of bad luck, Duke would have gon bowling two years ago, but instead finished 5-7. Coach Cutcliffe continues to work hard on the recruiting trail to build depth, but it’s slow Right now Duke still doesn't have enough raw talent outside the top 22 players on the roster, making for an extremely small margin of error.

Is there any hope for the defensive front to start getting into the backfield?

The defensive front will be somewhat undersized again this season and Duke will be relying on speed from the perimeter and the inside linebackers to help with that deficiency. Other programs such as Wake Forest have done well in the past with smaller linemen, but there's no question the Blue Devils would love to land a number of bigger, stronger interior defensive types.

What’s the biggest insider storyline from this spring that the average fan should know about?

Coach Cutcliffe has made quite a show of getting the 'best 22' players on the field. Included in those top players are all three rotational quarterbacks - Renfree, Anthony Boone, and Brandon Connette. Because of that, it's likely Duke will run sets with at least two signal callers on the field at the same time.
