Forget about the hype and forget about the preseason
projections and PR campaigns. Really, who are the best players in college football?
No, this isn't going to be a ranking of the top pro
prospects or the players who have the most talent.
This is the CFN Top Ten Player Race based on which
players are the top performers during the season. So
if you didn't know any of the players or any of the
past performances and just took what has happened on
the field from the start of the season, who would
the ten best players of the season be? Consider this
a combination of Most Valuable Player, Most
Important Player and Most Outstanding Player.
CFN Week 2 Player of the Week - ULM QB Kolton Browning completed 42-of-67
passes for 412 yards and three touchdowns with a
pick, and he ran 16 times for 69 yards and a score
in the overtime win over Arkansas.

Tennessee QB Tyler Bray has
completed 74% of his passes for 643 yards and six
touchdowns with no picks in wins over NC State and Georgia State.

Georgia LB Jarvis Jones has made 17
tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks with
two broken up passes, two forced fumbles and a pick
in wins over Buffalo and Missouri.

Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater has
completed 81% of his passes for 576 yards and two
scores, and has rushed for 23 yards, leading the
Cardinals to wins over Kentucky and Missouri State.
7. West Virginia QB Geno Smith completed 32-of-36 passes for 323 yards and four scores and he ran eight times for 65 yards and one score in the win over Marshall.

completed 67% of his passes for 362 yards and three
scores with a pick, and is fourth in the nation in
rushing with 302 yards and four touchdowns, in wins
over Miami University and UCF.

completed 72% of his passes for 379 yards and three
scores with a pick, and has run for 125 yards and
three scores, in wins over Missouri State and Miami.

passes for 55 yards in wins over Boise State and
Central Michigan.

10. Florida State DE Bjoern Werner made four sacks,
five tackles, forced a fumble and broke up a pass in
the win over Murray State.
9. Tennessee QB Tyler Bray completed 27-of-41 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns in the win over NC State.
8. Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater completed 19-of-21 passes for 232 yards in the win over Kentucky.
7. Ohio QB Tyler Tettleton completed 31-of-41 passes for 324 yards and two scores and ran nine times for 47 yards and a touchdown in the win over Penn State.
6. Ohio State QB Braxton Miller completed 14-of-24 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns and ran 17 times for 161 yards and a score in the win over Miami University.
5. Clemson RB Andre Ellington ran 26 times for 231 yards in the win over Auburn.
4. USC WR Marqise Lee caught ten passes for 197 yards and a score and returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in the win over Hawaii.
3. Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez completed 26-of-34 passes for 354 yards and five touchdowns, and ran for ten yards, in the win over Southern Miss.
