Week 4 CFN Fearless Prediction - Troy at North Texas

Troy (1-2) at North Texas (1-2) Sept. 22, 7:00, ESPN3

Here’s The Deal: After a rocky start for both teams, this should be a bit of a wild firefight. North Texas has been decent offensively considering it had to face LSU and Kansas State over the first three weeks, while Troy has been fantastic offensively despite the 1-2 start. After pushing Mississippi State hard in a 30-24 loss, the Trojans are looking just good enough to contend for the Sun Belt title. The Mean Green still has work to do, but a win this week and the layup against Florida Atlantic next week would mean a 2-0 conference start before dealing with Louisiana-Lafayette.

What Will Happen: The Troy offense will meet its match against a North Texas defense that’s been terrific so far at forcing mistakes. The Mean Green has come up with seven takeaways while Troy has had a problem with nine turnovers including two lost fumbles in each of the first three games. Even so, the passing of Corey Robinson will overcome a slew of penalties and mistakes.

CFN Prediction: Troy 24 … North Texas 20
