Week 11 CFN Sun Belt Fearless Predictions & Game Previews

ULM (6-3) at Arkansas State (6-3) Nov. 8, 7:00, ESPNU

Here’s The Deal: It might be the Sun Belt Game of the Year. ULM’s loss to Louisiana-Lafayette last week was a problem, but not a killer. As long as the Warhawks win out, they’ll win the Sun Belt title to cap off what has already been one of the strongest seasons in the program’s history. The defense couldn’t slow down ULL, while the offense didn’t recover after losing star quarterback Kolton Browning early on with a leg injury. Arkansas State is on a four-game winning streak after losing to WKU, with the offense rolling at just the right time. The Red Wolves beat ULL 50-27 on the road just a few weeks ago.

What Will Happen: ULM is still strong, despite the Browning injury, but ASU is going to be too good on the ground with David Oku and Ryan Aplin combining forces to fumble for more than 200 yards. The Warhawks will put up some numbers, but they won’t be mistake-free and won’t be able to keep up.

CFN Prediction: Arkansas State 38 … ULM 31
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Arkansas State -6.5 O/U: 59
Must Watch Rating (5 – Skyfall, 1 – Wreck It Ralph): 4

Florida Atlantic (2-7) at Western Kentucky (6-3) Nov. 10, 1:00, ESPN3

What Will Happen: WKU was deep in the hunt for the Sun Belt title until the wheels started to come off a few weeks ago with losses to ULM and Middle Tennessee. While the Hilltoppers are bowl eligible, they need more wins and more style points to get one of the Sun Belt’s bids. With the league’s best defense, they should be able to stuff an FAU offense that’s averaging just 18 points per game. However, the Owls have picked things up over the last few weeks and shouldn’t be a pushover.

CFN Prediction: Western Kentucky 37 … Florida Atlantic 17

Must Watch Rating (5 – Skyfall, 1 – Wreck It Ralph): 1.5

Navy (6-3) at Troy (4-5) Nov. 10, 3:30, ESPN3

What Will Happen: Can Troy stop the run? The defense hasn’t been bad, but the pass rush has been non-existent and the secondary has been torched. Of course, Navy isn’t going to throw it much and needs crank out the running game to keep the high-powered Trojan offense off the field. However, the Midshipmen are good in the secondary and should be able to get off the field enough to control the time of possession.

CFN Prediction: Navy 31 … Troy 27

Must Watch Rating (5 – Skyfall, 1 – Wreck It Ralph): 2

South Alabama (2-7) at North Texas (3-6) Nov. 10, 5:00

What Will Happen: The Mean Green has lost its last two games after stunning Louisiana-Lafayette, and they might need to come up with a big win in the home finale before having to deal with ULM and WKU on the road. The offense might not be doing much, but the offensive line is doing a great job in pass protection and is pounding away for the running game. South Alabama is getting the offense moving a bit, but it can’t come up with the close win. It’s not going to happen this week, either.

CFN Prediction: North Texas 30 … South Alabama 20
