The picks, predictions and game previews for all the Week 12 WAC games

Texas State (3-6) at Navy (6-4) Nov. 17, 3:30

What Will Happen: Run, run, run the ball. Texas State doesn't have the ground attack that Navy has, but its high-octane attack should be able to keep up any pace against a defense that's coming off a rough outing against Troy. The Midshipmen are already set for the post-season, and now it's time to get back on the winning track before the long layoff leading to the Army showdown. Navy will control the ball and the clock to keep the TSU offense that hung punch for punch with Louisiana Tech off the field.

CFN Prediction: Navy 40 … Texas State 28

Must Watch Rating (5 – Killing Them Softly, 1 – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2): 2

Utah State (8-2) at Louisiana Tech (9-1) Nov. 17, 4:00, ESPN3

What Will Happen: It's the battle for the WAC title between the two remaining unbeaten teams. Louisiana Tech has managed to overcome a loss to Texas A&M and a miserable defense to get to 9-1 with a date at San Jose State left to play to end the WAC season. The offense is No. 1 in the nation in yards and second in scoring with a tremendously efficient attack that put up 51 points or more in every game by two, scoring 44 against Virginia and 28 at New Mexico State.

Utah State is on a four-game winning streak and is two field goals against Wisconsin and BYU away from being unbeaten. Can the terrific offense keep up the pace? It might not have to with a terrific defense that leads the WAC in every major category and ranking sixth in scoring and 12th in total defense. The pass rush should be able to get to Tech quarterback Colby Cameron to throw off the Tech offense a bit, but not enough. If the game was in Logan, the Aggies would be the pick. The game is in Ruston and Cameron will come through late with a thrilling win.

CFN Prediction: Louisiana Tech 48 … Utah State 45

Must Watch Rating (5 – Killing Them Softly, 1 – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2): 5

UTSA (6-4) at Idaho (1-9) Nov. 17, 5:00

What Will Happen: UTSA can't go bowling, but it can close out with a strong record and a ton of excitement going into the offseason. The Roadrunners broke a four game losing streak with a win over McNeese State, and while there aren't any impressive wins on the slate, to beat Idaho and Texas State to go 8-4 would be a successful season. Idaho has been a disaster with just one win and a four-game losing streak since the loss to New Mexico State. The nation's worst scoring offense will have a bit more success, but not enough against a UTSA D that's doing just enough to get by. The Vandals don't have the passing game to move efficiently.

CFN Prediction: UTSA 30 … Idaho 23

Must Watch Rating (5 – Killing Them Softly, 1 – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2): 1.5

BYU (6-4) at San Jose State (8-2) Nov. 17, 10:30, ESPN2

What Will Happen: Is San Jose State finally ready to come up with a big win? It's been a tremendous season for the Spartans going 8-2 and with a shot at the WAC title still on the table, but the best win so far has come against San Diego State. With this week's game against BYU and next week's date against Louisiana Tech, it's time to prove it with a high-octane passing attack and a big-time pass rush. BYU is Poinsettia Bowl bound, and now it's time to pad the record going on the road to deal with SJSU this week and New Mexico State to finish. The run defense is great, but it's going to have to be the strong pass defense that gets the job done.

CFN Prediction: BYU 34 … San Jose State 27

Must Watch Rating (5 – Killing Them Softly, 1 – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2): 3
