Week 13 WAC Fearless Predictions and Game Previews

Texas State (3-7) at UTSA (7-4) Nov. 24, 2:00

What Will Happen: It has been a fun first season for the Roadrunners, but they got the easy job of being able to deal with layup after layup of teams outside of the FBS world. Texas State has had it significantly tougher with a four-game losing streak and with six losses in the last seven. The Bobcat offense has been inconsistent and the defense non-existent at times, but before the team closes out with New Mexico State, it should be able to get the offense going against a UTSA team that will have to settle for a nice seven-win campaign.

CFN Prediction: Texas State 37 … UTSA 31
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Texas State -1.5 O/U: 54.5
Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): 2

Idaho (1-10) at Utah State (9-2) Nov. 24, 3:00, ESPN3

What Will Happen: Utah State held on for dear life to get by Louisiana Tech to ensure at least a piece of the WAC championship, and it can take the title outright with a victory over an Idaho team in its final game before becoming an independent. On a five game losing streak thanks to an offense that can’t hang on to the ball and a defense that can’t stop anyone’s passing game, the Vandals will be toyed around with as Utah State rolls with ease to the final WAC title - for now.

CFN Prediction: Utah State 52 … Idaho 14
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Utah State -39 O/U: 57.5
Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): 1

BYU (6-5) at New Mexico State (1-9) Nov. 24, 3:30, ESPN3

What Will Happen: New Mexico State is on a nine-game losing streak since opening up the season with a win over Sacramento State, and the team appears to be getting worse. The offense has scored more than 14 points just once in the last seven games, and it’s not going to be much easier this week against a BYU defense that’s third in the nation. 14 points should be more than enough for the Cougars to finish up the regular season on a high note before going off to the Poinsettia Bowl.

CFN Prediction: BYU 38 … New Mexico State 7
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) BYU -29.5 O/U: 75
Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): 1.5

Louisiana Tech (9-2) at San Jose State (9-2) Nov. 24, 10:30, ESPN2

What Will Happen: Utah State has technically already won the WAC with wins over both Louisiana Tech and San Jose State, but if the Aggies gag away a loss to an Idaho team that’s almost a 40-point underdog, then the winner of this can at least finish in a tie in the standings as co-conference champions. Louisiana Tech suffered a tough overtime loss to Utah State after mounting a big comeback, and while the defense might be last in the nation the offense is first in both yards and points. San Jose State has the passing attack to keep up and the pass rush to slow down the Bulldogs just enough to come up with a tenth win to close out one of the best seasons in the program’s history.

CFN Prediction: San Jose State 58 … Louisiana Tech 52
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) San Jose State -5 O/U: 75
Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): 4.5
