Week 13 Sun Belt Fearless Predictions & Game Previews

North Texas (4-7) at Western Kentucky (6-5) Nov. 24, 1:00, ESPN3

What Will Happen: Western Kentucky might be bowl eligible, but it could really, really use another victory to cement its spot in the post-season. North Texas has lost three of its last four games including a 42-16 blasting from ULM last week. The Hilltoppers have fallen into the abyss with a three game losing streak to blow any dreams of winning the Sun Belt, but the running game will work again in the home finale, and the special teams will make a big difference.

CFN Prediction: WKU 38 … North Texas 21

Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): #

Troy (5-6) at Middle Tennessee (7-3) Nov. 24, 3:30, ESPN3

What Will Happen: It might be tough to get a bowl bid at 6-6, but if Troy can pull off the win against the Blue Raiders, it will get eligible and be really, really close. The high-octane passing offense has helped the top attack crank up big numbers over the last few weeks, but without enough wins. The Blue Raiders have a strong ground attack, but they’re not doing enough defensively to hold down the Trojans. The pass rush isn’t there to disrupt the explosion.

CFN Prediction: Troy 34 … Middle Tennessee 31
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Middle Tennessee -2.5 O/U: 67.5
Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): 3

South Alabama (2-9) at Louisiana-Lafayette (6-4) Nov. 24,

What Will Happen: The Ragin’ Cajuns overcame a rocky stretch to blow up ULM and get by WKU to become bowl eligible, but there’s still work to be done. 6-6 ULL probably doesn’t get a 13th game, but 8-4 would be enough. The offensive front should be able to pound away on a USA defensive front that hasn’t been able to slow down the run over the last several weeks. The ULL offensive balance should be too much to overcome.

CFN Prediction: Louisiana-Lafayette 31 … South Alabama 14
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Louisiana-Lafayette -18.5 O/U: 56
Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): 1.5

ULM (7-4) at Florida International (3-8) Nov. 24, 6:00

What Will Happen: It has been a painfully disappointing season for FIU, but handing ULM a loss in the season finale could be a decent way to gear up the young team for the offseason. The Warhawks have lost their mojo after the incredible start, but the offense is still humming and the run defense the best in the league. The Golden Panthers are too inconsistent and have too many issues on defense, but on a two game winning streak, they’re getting hot a bit too late. It’ll be enough to close strong.

CFN Prediction: FIU 30 … ULM 27
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) ULM -6 O/U: 61
Must Watch Rating (5 – Beware of Mr. Baker, 1 – Life of Pi): 2.5
