Week 14 Fearless Prediction - Mountain West, Sun Belt & WAC

Middle Tennessee (8-3) at Arkansas State (8-3) Dec. 1, 3:00, ESPN3

What Will Happen: It’s the Sun Belt championship game with Middle Tennessee overcoming the loss to ULM to win five conference games to set up a chance to come away with the title. The offense hasn’t been anything special and the defense has been lousy, but the offensive line is terrific and the team doesn’t make a slew of big mistakes. That’s not going to be enough. With no pass rush to get into the backfield, the Arkansas State attack that’s been so terrific running the ball will dominate. The ASU offense has been on fire over the last month and will keep on rolling, bringing Gus Malzahn a title.
CFN Prediction: Arkansas State 38 … Middle Tennessee 24
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Arkansas State -10.5 O/U: 62.5
Must Watch Rating (5 – Crossfire Hurricane, 1 – Comic Book Men: 4

Louisiana-Lafayette (7-4) at Florida Atlantic (3-8) Dec. 1, 3:00

What Will Happen: Florida Atlantic’s first year under Carl Pelini has quickly turned decent with two wins over the last month and a double overtime loss. More importantly, the team has become more competitive and now has a decent eye towards the future. However, the offense is mediocre and the pass rush awful. Louisiana-Lafayette locked into the New Orleans Bowl, but it can close out with four straight Sun Belt wins with the potential to end the year with nine victories. The offense will be too efficient and the lines too strong for the Owls.
CFN Prediction: Louisiana-Lafayette 30 … Florida Atlantic 17

Must Watch Rating (5 – Crossfire Hurricane, 1 – Comic Book Men: 1.5
Boise State (9-2) at Nevada (8-3) Dec. 1, 3:30, ABC

What Will Happen: Fresno State and Utah State already have a piece of the Mountain West title, and now Boise State can claim a share of it, too. The Broncos are shooting for yet another ten-win season thanks to a defense that’s been stifling in Mountain West play and has only allowed more than 14 points once in the last seven games. Nevada broke through a three-game losing streak with a tight win over New Mexico, and while the offense has been solid, the defense can’t stop the run and can’t get into the backfield. This will be a typical tough, grinding Boise State win with the run defense holding up well against Stefphon Jefferson, the nation’s No. 2 rusher.
CFN Prediction: Boise State 31 … Nevada 21
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Boise State -9 O/U: 59.5
Must Watch Rating (5 – Crossfire Hurricane, 1 – Comic Book Men: 3

New Mexico State (1-10) at Texas State (3-8) Dec. 1, 4:00

What Will Happen: The Bobcats are on a five-game losing streak after starting out so promising, but the offense is still working with the pop and explosion to go on a big run that NMSU can’t match. The TSU pass defense might be a problem, but the Aggies aren’t getting enough out of an offense that can throw a little bit but can’t run a lick. How bad are things? NMSU hasn’t scored more than 14 points in seven of the last eight games, and as bad as the O has been, the D has been worse.
CFN Prediction: Texas State 34 … New Mexico State 14
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Texas State -13.5 O/U: 57
Must Watch Rating (5 – Crossfire Hurricane, 1 – Comic Book Men: 1

South Alabama (2-10) at Hawaii (2-9) Dec. 1, 11:00

What Will Happen: On a five-game losing streak, the South Alabama is getting progressively worse while the offense hasn’t been able to find anything to consistently work. However, ending the year with a trip to Hawaii isn’t bad, and it could get even better against a bad Warrior team. After a disastrous first season under Norm Chow, Hawaii rose up and rocked UNLV last week with an offensive explosion everyone has been waiting all year for. Make it two weeks in a row, even if the O doesn’t come up with a similar performance.

CFN Prediction: Hawaii 40 … South Alabama 21
ATS Consultants Line (Click for more lines and picks) Hawaii -6 O/U: 52.5
Must Watch Rating (5 – Crossfire Hurricane, 1 – Comic Book Men: 1
