2013 Preseason SEC Offensive Player of the Year

OT Cyrus Kouandjio, Jr. Alabama

Of course, if Mr. Manziel's crazy offseason doesn't matter, and if he's able to do that again, he's the no-brainer preseason SEC Player of the Year. However, considering all the concerns, a reasonable argument could be made that Alabama's AJ McCarron or Georgia's Aaron Murray could end up winning first-team All-SEC honors. As good as Manziel might be, and as good as Jadeveon Clowney is, there's a chance that Kouandjio will go first in the 2014 NFL Draft - he's a better prospect than Eric Fisher. Yes there are a few consistency issues, but the raw tools and experience are there to help make up for the loss of three starters on the Tide offensive front.

2013 Preseason SEC Defensive Player of the Year

DE Jadeveon Clowney, Jr. South Carolina

The open concern from Mark Richt and the other SEC coaches is 100% real and justified. There's almost no chance that he'll live up to the enormous hype - at this point, it's almost as if he's expected to come up with a sack on every play - but just his presence on the line makes the South Carolina defense fantastic. It'll take double and triple teams to stop him on every play, and the rest of the line should flourish. The No. 1 pick if he was eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft, and a certain top five selection in 2014, if not the top guy, he'll be fantastic no matter what.
