Key Question No. 15 - Stanford or Oregon out of the Pac-12?

15. Stanford or Oregon out of the Pac-12?

Richard Cirminiello: Stanford. After winning in Eugene last Nov. 17, 17-14, the Cardinal owns the secret sauce on how to slow down the otherwise unstoppable Quack Attack. And this year, Stanford won't have to contend with the genius of Chip Kelly, or with airline travel; the Pac-12 North favorites meet in Northern California on Nov. 7. The Cardinal front seven is as tough and as nasty as any in the FBS, including the SEC. Plus, on offense QB Kevin Hogan won't be a wide-eyed rookie starting in just his third career game, as he was in 2012.

FOLLOW! @PeteFiutak: Don't forget about a rising Washington and don't just assume the South champion – probably UCLA or USC – will be a pushover, but it'll be Oregon. I'm a believer. Marcus Mariota is my guy to go from great to otherworldly this season as the leader of the loaded and dangerous offense, while the defense should be fine with a little bit of tweaking to the front seven. Stanford is going to be fantastic with its power ground game, nasty defensive front seven and improved Kevin Hogan at quarterback, but the schedule could be a slight problem. Yes, the Cardinal will welcome the Ducks on the Farm, but they also have to deal with trips to Oregon State and USC along with a date with South star UCLA. It's not exactly going to be easy for Oregon with the road games at Stanford and Washington along with a trip to Arizona and, like the Cardinal a battle with the Bruins. Neither star from North will get through the season unscathed, but Oregon will get revenge for last year's loss on the Thursday night game in early November, and that will be just enough to eventually get to the Rose Bowl.
