Week 9 Fearless Prediction & Preview - Arizona at Colorado

- a href="http://cfn.scout.com/2/1338918.html">Utah at USC | UCLA at Oregon | Arizona at Colorado
- Stanford at Oregon State | California at Washington

Arizona (4-2) at Colorado (3-3) Oct. 26, 8:00, Pac-12 Network

Why You Should Give A Hoot: Boy, did Arizona ever need to beat Utah on Saturday night. The ‘Cats were coming off consecutive losses to Washington and USC, and desperately needed to change the direction of their season. By knocking off the team that had upset Stanford just a week earlier, Arizona now has a chance to get on mini-roll in time for its second-half postseason push. Colorado's impromptu visit from Charleston Southern went as planned, a 43-10 win that snapped a three-game losing streak. The Buffs have begun using a number of freshmen in key spots, peeking out toward the future, while remaining focused on 2013.

Why Arizona Might Win: As Wildcat QB B.J. Denker gradually settles into his role, the overall offense has become more potent. The star of the show is obviously RB Ka'Deem Carey, who just went for 236 yards and has yet to be held under 100, but Arizona becomes doubly difficult to stop when Denker is making things happen with his feet and his left arm. Decent competition has gashed an outmanned Colorado D that's allowed an average of 51 points in three Pac-12 games.

Why Colorado Might Win: The Buffaloes have gotten a much-needed spark from a rookie backfield that hopes to carry this team through the second half. Last week's win was spearheaded by two true freshmen, QB Sefo Liufau and RB Michael Adkins. Adkins exploded for 137 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Liufau connected on 14-of-20 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown to WR Paul Richardson. With youth being served, Colorado is going to improve with each passing week.

Who To Watch Out For: The Arizona D has been a pleasant surprise so far this season, especially against the pass. However, it needs to get back starting Spur Tra'Mayne Bondurant, who left last week's game in the first quarter with a concussion.

- Buff LB Addison Gillam has had a sensational start to his career, but he's about to face his toughest challenge to date, corralling Carey, one of the nation's best backs. The rookie is going to need more help from a collection of interior linemen that have been shoved around at times.

- Tackles Fabbians Ebbele and Mickey Baucus and the rest of the Arizona line have quietly done a solid job of getting off their blocks. The ‘Cats have yielded just 21 stops for minus yards, tied for lowest in the country.

What Will Happen: Having turned the corner last week at the expense of Utah, Arizona is prepared to continue surging forward in Boulder. While Colorado has reason for long-term optimism, it'll bow on this day to the relentless running of Carey and a few choice plays out of Denker.
