CFN Analysis: There was an outside chance of Florida getting a rematch with Alabama for the national title if the rankings went Bama 1, Texas 2, and Florida 3, but that went bye-bye with a No. 5 ranking for the Gators. Penn State being ranked ninth and Iowa 11th might become a factor in the bowl discussion.

CFN Analysis: Georgia Tech's loss to Georgia moved up Ohio State a bit, but it doesn't matter overall. For some reason, Penn State is one spot ahead of Iowa despite the Hawkeyes winning the head-to-head battle. Northwestern is 30th and Wisconsin 26th, Clemson is 27th and South Carolina 31st, and Oklahoma State is still being given a top 25 spot after being destroyed by Oklahoma, who's ranked 38th. Georgia Tech is 10-2 and beat a 9-3 Virginia Tech, but the Hokies are ranked one spot ahead.

CFN Analysis: Not much changed at the top. Ole Miss just beat LSU, they have the same record, but the Tigers are 17th and Ole Miss 25th. It's fair to put Penn State ahead of Iowa if you don't believe the Hawkeyes are all that great without Ricky Stanzi at QB, but the pollsters have to justify putting them below the Nittany Lions (we do in our poll). Arizona probably deserves a little more love than 34th after the battle with Oregon. North Carolina beat Miami two weeks ago, both teams are 8-3, but the Canes are three spots ahead of the Tar Heels.

CFN Analysis: Miami and North Carolina are each 7-3. North Carolina just beat Miami, so the coaches obviously voted accordingly. These are the coaches; they don't pay attention to what happens every Saturday. The top nine stayed the same, and for some reason, Iowa moved down behind Wisconsin after an overtime loss in Columbus (the Hawkeyes beat the Badgers), and the James Vandenberg excuse doesn't work now. Oregon State might be better than USC right now, but that's now how this poll works; the Trojans should be ranked higher after the head-to-head win a few weeks ago.

CFN Analysis: Pitt is quickly creeping into a lofty position and it could become a player in the BCS discussion as an at-large pick if it doesn't win the Big East title. Iowa couldn't tumble fast enough as it rockets down the charts. LSU lost to Florida and Alabama; does it really need to be punished? Watch for Arizona to sink like a stone over the next few weeks when the meat of the schedule kicks in.

CFN Analysis: TCU is up to No. 4 blowing past Boise State, who stayed at No. 5. There's no real arguing with Boise State being ahead of Oregon considering the head-to-head win, but right now, which team is really playing better? USC is one spot behind Ohio State despite the Trojan win in Columbus. Miami is getting way too much credit at 17, while BYU likely isn't a top 25 team.

CFN Analysis: TCU was able to move up one spot, flip-flopping with Cincinnati, but it didn't get past Boise State. If TCU isn't going to get respect after the win over BYU, when will it? Utah is getting too much credit at 19, but that's nitpicking. Houston is still ranked behind Oklahoma State, but that's not a bad call now considering the Cowboys are playing far better than they did when they lost to the Cougars.

CFN Analysis: Really, coaches, Oklahoma at 26? Did you actually watch what the defense did to Texas? What have Boise State and Cincinnati done to be ranked higher than Iowa and Miami? Oklahoma State is getting by now on preseason hype, no one must have seen how average the team has been, and apparently, no one gets Fox Sport Net and didn't see Kansas losing to Colorado. Arkansas pushes the No. 1 team in the country and doesn't get a sniff of the top 25? Notre Dame comes within a second of USC and isn't close? These are the people deciding your national championship.

CFN Analysis: Iowa finally, finally moves ahead of Penn State. The coaches don't believe in Oklahoma with Sam Bradford back, but if the coaches still believe in BYU enough to put it 19th, why is OU one spot higher? The Nebraska win at Missouri didn't seem to matter all that much, and Notre Dame still barely gets any respect at No. 25.

CFN Analysis: Penn State, inexplicably, is 12th after losing at home two weeks ago to Iowa, who's unbeaten at 14th. Ole Miss is at 16 even though it has looked awful and lost to South Carolina two weeks ago. The Gamecocks are 27th. Auburn and Wisconsin finally get some much deserved credit and get into the top 25, while Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and BYU are in because of name recognition and not the way they've played over the last few weeks.

CFN Analysis: Oh COME ON! ... Cal is 19th and Oregon is 25th? Coaches, you're not even trying. How is Oklahoma State (12) still ahead of Houston (15)? The Cougars not only beat the Cowboys in Stillwater, but they proved themselves against Texas Tech last week. The other major miss is Penn State ranked 13th and Iowa ranked 17th. Uhhhhh, the game was on TV, people. The other monster problem is Ole Miss ranked 18th ahead of South Carolina, WHO ISN'T EVEN IN THE TOP 25. Nebraska is ridiculously low, and Auburn at 28 is a joke.
