Top 100 player commits to Oklahoma
Jeff Fuller selected Oklahoma this weekend after coming for a visit
which included watching a dominating Sooner performance. Fuller is
ranked 91st by Rivals.com and is 13th overall in
Texas.
Diabetic condition keeps Lett off the field
Chris Lett will not be playing for Bama until he shows some significant
improvement in managing his diabetic condition.
Miami is two captains shy of a full boat
Tailback Brandon Murphy and linebacker Joey Hudson are questionable for
the Miami University game against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Tulane QB healthy...sort of
Scott Elliott practiced Wednesday even though he was still suffering
from a sprained foot and is projected to start against the Houston
Cougars this weekend.
He’s doing what?
RB Richard Kelly worked out with tight end coaches for USF and announced
that he would be splitting his time between special teams and also a new
role as TE for the Bulls.
Nickson still a question
Chris Nickson and Mackenzi Adams split the snaps for QB during
Wednesday’s practice which is a growing sign that Nickson may not be
starting for the Commodores this weekend.
Right when you need him
USC could get Chauncey Washington back into the mix this weekend as they
travel to Lincoln for a matchup against the Huskers.
Can Eagles fly with injuries?
DE Nick Larkin will miss at least four games due to recovery from
arthoscopic surgery on his left knee, it also appears that Boston
College is optimistic about his return.
Longhorns in a bind
Safety Tyrell Gatewood was released from jail today after being arrested
on drug charges. He was charged with two counts of possession of a
dangerous drug.

Top North Carolina QB heading to Chapel Hill
Braden Hanson made it his dream to be playing for the Tar Heels and it
looks like Chapel Hill has managed to reel in the NC native.
Despite arrest, Wildcat will start
Even though Steve Johnson was arrested Wednesday night with four traffic
violations and resisting arrest, he will be starting in the Wildcats’
opener against Eastern Kentucky.

is out, O’Dowd is in
After Matt Spanos suffered a triceps injury, Pete Carroll serious
considered moving left guard Jeff Byers to the position, but is instead
trusting the center spot to freshman Kristofer O’Dowd.
Redshirt Freshman to kick things off for the Terps
Adrian Moten will start at strong side MLB when Maryland starts the
season off against Villanova.
Jones looking more like the lead horse as the weekend
nears
Charlie Weis’ attempt to keep the Yellow Jackets on their heels against
the Fighting Irish are finally losing steam. It appears more and more
as Demetrius Jones will be starting for ND come Saturday.
Freshman Sooner arrested for a charge of attempted
larceny
Ryan Broyles, a freshman WR for the Sooners was arrested on suspicion of
trying to steal gasoline from a convenience store.
North Carolina safety suspending indefinitely
Butch Davis has indefinitely suspended James Arnold for violation of
team rules.
Blake should be a go for this weekend
TCU DE Tommy Blake has been a question mark for the last couple weeks,
but Gary Patterson foresees him to start against Baylor on Saturday.
Florida loses a tackle and a captain
Senior Phil Trautwein will miss the opener against Western Kentucky this
Saturday due to a stress fracture in his right foot.
‘Canes wing it
The Miami Hurricanes have put an untested kicker atop their depth
charts.
Holland to get a hearing…finally
Former USC wide-out Jamere Holland was granted his appeal hearing to
transfer to Oregon this coming year.
Boston College has a limp at RB position
L.V. Whitworth has been nursing a hamstring injury through camp,
practiced once every other day this week. Whitworth is BC’s projected
starter.
Golden Bears not green enough
Kyle Reed has transferred from California to San Jose State after being
shunned by Jeff Tedford for the backup QB position.

Chalk up another for North Texas
Backup LB Bryant Seidle is most likely out for the season with a
shoulder injury that appears to need surgery.
Oklahoma plays through the pain
DT Gerald McCoy is slower than normal, but is still willing to play.
However, he will most likely sit out Oklahoma’s game against Utah State.
Gamecocks just too cocky
Starting CB Carlos Thomas will miss the first half of a game against SC
State for two penalties he received during the Georgia game last week.
Pinkard out for season
Josh Pinkard is now out for the season…again. USC’s premiere defensive
back will undergo surgery for an ACL injury.
UCLA DT out for at least four weeks
Brigham Harwell will be out for at least four weeks due to a torn MCL in
his left surgery, it also appears that he will need surgery to fix the
problem.

Top QB chooses Illinois
Jacob Charest has decided on committing to Illinois and putting his full
attention on a state championship.
Mallett to hammer it out as Michigan starter
Chad Henne is out, freshman Ryan Mallett will start for the Wolverines.
Pinkard out, USC suffers
USC’s secondary will have to do without Josh Pinkard for a while. It
appears that the cornerback has torn ligaments in his knee.
Versatility is an issue for K-State D
Kansas State lost perhaps its most versatile player on defense to a knee
injury. LB Antwon Moore will be out for the season with what appears to
be quite serious knee injury.
Smith will start after concussion game
RB Antione Smith will start this weekend’s game after suffered a
concussion against UAB.

Sean Glennon will no longer be starting the Hokie offense, he will
instead be replaced by Tyrod Taylor.
Flynn sits out
Matt Flynn sat out practice today to rest his injured right ankle, but
Les Miles was quick to discount the injury as being problematic.
Vandy might have to pull switch
Chris Nickson may not be starting for the Commodores when they face Ole
Miss. He pulled his hamstring last week and has not been moving at full
speed.
Utah State safety suspended for season
Antonio Taylor was suspended for the rest of the season after violating
team rules.
Wright to return
Kyle Wright will start for the Canes this coming weekend. The decision
comes after a rout against the Oklahoma Sooners this past weekend.

Top TCU DE sits out another practice
All-American Tommy Blake sits out another practice with the Horned Frogs
because of feeling a little under the weather.
Cook reinstated to the Gamecocks
Emmanuel Cook will be reinstated to play for the South Carolina
Gamecocks after a close brush with suspension following a gun incident.
Cleared and ready for take off
After finally being cleared to play ball for the Trojans, C.J. Gable
also received another gift, he will be the starter against the Idaho
Vandals this weekend.
Arkansas wide out most likely out for opener
Marcus Monk underwent arthoscopic knee surgery for the second time this
month on Tuesday. The surgery also raises questions about Monk’s health
for the rest of the year.
Junior LB out of Minnesota calling it quits
Junior John Carlson said that if he suffered another serious injury
after returning from ACL surgery, he would hang up the pads,
unfortunately, that injury came about last week.
Paterno don’t play that
Joe Paterno has benched a pair of his players for three to four weeks
for drinking while underage.
Cowboys get rid of a “cowboy”
Linebacker Alex Odiari was dismissed from the Oklahoma State Cowboys
this week for breaking team rules.
For USC, the hits keep coming
Southern California is starting to look more like Maryland with all the
injuries they’ve suffered in the past few weeks. On this list of fresh
injuries is starting WR Patrick Turner and starting center Matt Spanos.

Junior Daniel Evans says that experience was a key in his selection as

Tailback Kevin Collier will miss the 2007 season after breaking his
right wrist in the final preseason practice for the Panthers.
Despite injury, Sweed says he’ll start
Sweed was injured earlier on in the year, but Mack Brown announced that
Limas Sweed would be starting at WR against Arkansas State.
Miami has their signal caller
Randy Shannon has selected Kirby Freeman to start for the Canes this
season. He surpassed former first stringer Kyle Wright for the top
spot.

Chauncey Washington and Mark Sanchez look a bit more than questionable
to play in the season opener against the Vandals.

Tim Brown has speed to burn, but knew that he could heal this fast.
There is a chance that Brown may play in the opener despite breaking his

San Jose State lost their backup tailback to a season ending knee injury
