Pac
10
Player
of the Year
Daymeion Hughes, Sr. California
Known
mostly for picking off passes, Hughes
was also a solid tackler making plays
like a safety. Of course, it's the eight
interceptions that made him the star,
and the reputation that kept most teams
from throwing at him. He was decent
against the USC passing game and even
did a solid job of getting into the
backfield, but his big performance was
against Arizona State picking off two
passes for 63 yards and a score while
getting in on eight tackles.
Offensive
Player of the Year -
Marshawn Lynch, RB California
Even though he had to share carries and
plays with all the other Bear offensive
stars, Lynch was still tremendous
highlighted by a two week span against
the Washington teams rushing for 302
yards and four scores in the two games.
He averaged 6.13 yards per carry while
leading the Pac 10 with 1,245 yards with
1,657 yards of total offense. Also a
strong receiver and kick returner, he
did a little of everything well
throughout the year.
