Week 1
-
Washington
State at Wisconsin
The Cougars have a high-octane offense and could ruin Wisconsin’s big
season before it even starts.
Week 2 -
Oregon at Michigan
Notre Dame at Penn State will get the national attention, but Oregon’s
trip to Ann Arbor will be the more fun shootout between two top
offenses.
Week 3 -
Notre Dame at Michigan
Keep an eye out for a possible upset when Ohio State goes to Washington
this week. Notre Dame’s going to stink, but it’s still Notre Dame vs.
Michigan.
Week 4 -
Penn State at Michigan
Iowa at Wisconsin will also have big-time title implications. Penn
State’s toughest road game after this? At Illinois. In other words, the
Big Ten title might be there for the taking with a Nittany Lion win.
Week 5 -
Ohio State at Minnesota
This could be the big early statement game to announce the arrival of
the Tim Brewster era in Minnesota.
Week 6
-
Iowa at
Penn State
Don’t sleep on Iowa. After this game, the toughest test over the final
six games will be at Purdue.
Week 7 -
Wisconsin at Penn State
If everything goes according to form, the Badgers will be 6-0 and ranked
in the top ten with layups against Northern Illinois and Indiana to
follow. A win in Happy Valley will mean a 9-0 start before the trip to
Ohio State.
Week 8 -
Iowa at Purdue
The best available game in a lean week, this could be an entertaining
shootout. It’s Iowa’s toughest road game left with only a trip to
Northwestern to go.
Week 9 -
Ohio State at Penn State
Call this an elimination game in the Big Ten race. Ohio State might need
to pull off the tough road game with Wisconsin and Michigan still to
deal with.
Week 10 -
Wisconsin at Ohio State
It might be a two-game season for the Badgers. If everything goes
according to form, this might be the biggest barrier to an unbeaten
year.
Week 11 -
Michigan at Wisconsin
This,
and not the Ohio State – Michigan game the following week, could be the
biggest of the Big Ten season. It could even have national title
implications.
Week 12 -
Ohio State at Michigan
Lloyd Carr will likely have the better team in a home game against the
hated Buckeyes. Talk about your must wins.
