Week 1
-
Tennessee
at California
Alright Cal, if you want to finally be respected by an ever skeptical
college football world and get into the national title discussion, this
is the game you must win.
Week 2 -
Oregon at Michigan
Is it really possible that Boise State vs. Washington will get more
attention than Oregon at Michigan? No, but it could be a more
entertaining game if the Ducks are appreciably tighter in all areas than
they were at the end of last year.
Week 3 -
USC at Nebraska
National titles can’t be won in mid-September, but they could be lost.
Nebraska is looking at this as its statement game to show it’s back to
being a superpower led by a familiar face, former ASU QB Sam Keller.
Week 4 -
Washington State at USC
Expect a good old fashioned Pac 10 shootout with Wazzu’s Alex Brink
getting a chance to shine on the big stage.
Week 5 -
California at Oregon
It’s a toss-up between the Bears and Ducks and UCLA’s battle at Oregon
State for the best of the week. This is Cal’s first real road test.
Week 6
-
Arizona State at Washington State
Notre Dame might stink early on, but if it’s good again, the battle with
UCLA would be the game of the week. The Sun Devils and Cougar should
wage a high-octane war with close to 700 passing yards between the two.
Week 7 - Oregon State at California
Arizona at USC will be interesting and Washington State at Oregon will
be bigger than you think, but the winner between the Beavers and Bears
might play one of the most exciting games of the year.
Week 8 -
California at UCLA
Yeah, USC and Notre Dame always takes center stage, but the Cal-UCLA
showdown might be an elimination game between two top ten teams.
Week 9 -
USC at Oregon
Cal at Arizona State will be the shootout of shootouts and Washington
State could be a nasty host to UCLA, but all eyes will be on Autzen as
the Ducks try to pull off the upset.
Week 10 -
Oregon State at USC
You don’t think USC will have revenge on its mind after last year’s loss
in Corvallis, do you?
Week 11 -
USC at California
The game of the year in the Pac 10, there’s an outside chance this might
be for the national title as well as for the league championship.
Week 12 -
Oregon State at Washington State
The best in a light week of games, the winner could finish third, but
the two will most likely be playing for fourth (at best).
Week 13 -
USC at Arizona State
A Thursday night showcase for Dennis Erickson’s Sun Devils, this is the
ultimate sandwich game for the Trojans between a road trip to Cal and
the UCLA showdown.
Week 14 -
UCLA at USC
If UCLA really is as good as it should be, it should have a shot to win
the Pac 10 title with a second straight upset of its hated rival.
