Week 1
-
Tennessee
at California
The season starts off with a bang with Oklahoma State at Georgia, Kansas
State at Auburn and Tennessee traveling to Berkeley for a September 1
game with national title implications.
Week 2 -
Virginia Tech at LSU
This could be the national championship and no one would think twice. If
these aren’t the two best defenses in America, they’re close.
Week 3 -
Tennessee at Florida
Always a classic, the Gators will show whether or not they’re national
title worthy again (but watch out the week before when Troy’s defense
gives Tim Tebow all he can handle).
Week 4 -
South Carolina at LSU
South Carolina starts out its SEC season at Georgia and at LSU. If it
can somehow split the two, it’ll be in the East championship hunt all
year long.
Week 5 -
Auburn at Florida
Auburn might not be Auburn going into the year, but that can
quickly change if it can beat the Gators for the second year in a row.
Half the world will be paying attention to the Florida State-Alabama
tussle in Jacksonville.
Week 6
-
Florida at LSU
A case could be made that this will be the best matchup of the year. It
might not be the only time they play.
Week 7 -
Auburn at Arkansas
Arkansas threw the SEC season into a tizzy after running all over the
Tigers last year. Auburn would love to return the favor.
Week 8 -
Auburn at LSU
The rock solid lock of the year: the Tigers will win. Also watch out for
Tennessee at Alabama and Florida’s trip to Kentucky.
Week 9 -
Florida vs. Georgia
The Cocktail-don’t-call-it-a-Cocktail Party always has SEC title
implications. South Carolina at Tennessee could turn out to be every bit
as important.
Week 10 -
LSU at Alabama
Nick Saban will downplay the showdown against his old program all week
long. He’ll be the only one.
Week 11 -
Florida at South Carolina
The Gators needed a blocked kick to get by the Ball Coach last season,
and might need a lot more than that to get out of Columbia with a win.
Auburn at Georgia and Arkansas at Tennessee will be the two good
interdivisional matchups of the week.
Week 12 -
Kentucky at Georgia
If Kentucky has the firepower it’s supposed to, this is a game it can
win.
Week 13 -
Alabama at Auburn
This is where Saban has to earn the mega-dollars.
