Arkansas State | Florida Atlantic | Florida International | MTSU
North Texas | Troy | UL Lafayette | UL Monroe

Sun Belt Game of the Week
Middle Tennessee 43 ... UL Monroe 40
UL Monroe took a 40-37 lead with 57 seconds to play on a six-yard touchdown catch from Zeek Zacharie. On the ensuing kickoff, Bradley Robinson returned it 89 yards for a touchdown and the improbable win. The Blue Raiders got an all-timer of a night from QB Joe Craddock, who stepped in for ran injured Dwight Dasher and threw four touchdown passes, highlighted by a 94-yard play to Jonathan Grigsby and scoring plays of 42 and 66 yards to Desmond Gee. ULM always had an answer, mostly from Calvin Dawson, who ran for scores from 17, seven and 62 yards out. A one-yard Craddock run with 2:36 to play appeared to give the Blue Raiders the lead for good, but Kinsmon Lancaster marched the Warhawks down the field finishing up with his second touchdown pass of the game before Robinson came up with his game-winner. ULM cranked out 624 yards of total offense to Middle Tennessee's 499.

Sun Belt Player of the Week
Middle Tennessee QB Joe Craddock completed 22 of 29 passes for 401 yards and four touchdown passes, and ran 11 times for 70 yards and a score in the win over UL Monroe.

Conference Roundup

Arkansas State … The team might not be playing well, but the rally to beat FIU might be just what it needs to kickstart a big final month. Reggie Arnold continues to run well when he gets a little bit of room, but Travis Hewitt, stepping in for Corey Leonard, has to start pushing the ball deeper and come up with more through the air. ASU got next to nothing going against FIU outside of Arnold.
FIU … Just when it seemed like FIU was finally going to pull off a win, it gives up 17 points in the final five minutes and can't cover a kickoff return that set up a field goal in the loss to ASU. The defense did what it had to do for 55 minutes, coming up with the key stops and getting a pick six from Lionel Singleton, but it wasn't enough. The offense couldn't close. The big problem offensively continues to be a lack of a running game. It can't all be Wayne Younger carrying things.
Florida Atlantic  … Didn’t Play This Week
Middle Tennessee … Dwight Dasher still might be the team's future and leader of the offense, but Joe Craddock certainly looked like a superstar when he took over this week. He made all the right decisions against UL Monroe, accounting for 471 yards of total offense and five scores, but while he's the story, along with the kickoff return for the game-wining touchdown, the concern is the defense that allowed 624 yards of total offense. Things have to tighten up considerably over the next week against UL Lafayette before the showdown at Troy.
North Texas
… Didn’t Play This Week
Troy … Give the Trojans credit for never backing down against Georgia, even if they didn't have enough ammo to keep up in the second half. Omar Haugabook kept pressing and pressing, and Jerrell Jernigan once again showed what a weapon he can be for the attack with 11 catches. Turnovers were a problem yet again, giving up four to make it 15 in three weeks, and those have to stop to make sure there isn't an upset to Western Kentucky next week.
UL Lafayette … Getting blasted by Tennessee on homecoming is nothing to be upset about. The running game was solid, thanks to a few decent drives from Tyrell Fenroy, and the offense was able to control the all for stretches, but this was an ugly blowout after the first half. Now, with the season turning from bad to ugly, coming up with a win over Middle Tennessee would spark some sort of positive momentum. Effectively running the ball will be vital to closing strong.
UL Monroe … ULM did what it had to do to beat Middle Tennessee, but just couldn't execute on the final kickoff. Calvin Dawson was sensational, Kinsmon Lancaster was effective, and everything was working more than fine on offense, but four turnovers and 15 penalties proved to be just enough to keep the Warhawks from grabbing the momentum. With a week off against Grambling State before dealing with Alabama, the team needs to keep the offense humming to have any prayer of making the battle in Tuscaloosa interesting..
