Big 12 Player of the Year

Sam Bradford, QB Oklahoma
Missouri QB Chase Daniel came up with a special year, Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree and Kansas State WR Jordy Nelson were unstoppable, and Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell threw for an ungodly 5,298 yards and 45 touchdowns, but Bradford led the way to a Big 12 title. Not only did the freshman step in and star in the OU offense, but he led the nation in passing efficiency by completing 70% of his passes for 34 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

Defensive Player of the Year - Curtis Lofton, LB Oklahoma
It wasn't just that Lofton made a ton of tackles and was all over the field, it was that he made a ton of big plays in the biggest games, especially against Missouri, with 18 tackles and a fumble return for a touchdown, and nine stops with an interception and an interception in the Big 12 title game. He stepped in for Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Rufus Alexander, and was just as good.
