ACC
Player
of the Year
Matt Ryan, QB Boston College
He threw too many interceptions (18) and
struggled in a few of the biggest games
of the year, but he provided college
football with one of the most thrilling
three minutes in the road win over
Virginia Tech and led his Eagles to the
ACC title game. When he was needed down
the stretch, he came through, even if
his team lost three of its final five
games, with two 400-yard games and three
300 yarders. If nothing else, he was the
signature national player for the ACC
throughout the season.
Defensive
Player of the Year -
Jamie Silva, FS Boston College
Virginia DE Chris Long is the ACC's most
talented defensive player, and might be
the league's best player, but Silva had
the best season of any defender
finishing sixth in the league in tackles
while coming up with six interceptions.
He was all over the place in the loss to
Florida State wit 18 tackles, 15 solo,
with a sack.
