Player
of the Year
Tim Tebow, QB Florida
It doesn't matter if it's Herschel
Walker, Emmitt Smith, Shaun Alexander,
Bo Jackson, any other all-time great SEC
running back you can think of, none of
them ran for more touchdowns in a season
than Tebow, who pounded his way for 22
scores with at least one in every game.
Yeah, most of those scores were from in
close, but he was the one who got the
team down there in the first place. Oh
yeah, and he could also throw a little
bit with 3,132 yards and 29 touchdowns
and just six interceptions while
finishing second in the nation in
passing efficiency.
Defensive
Player of the Year -
Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU
Despite suffering a knee injury in the
middle of the season against Auburn,
Dorsey pressed on to gut out seven
tackles against Alabama and managed to
gum up the middle of the line the rest
of the way. He wasn't nearly the player
over the second half of the season that
he was in the first half, but he was
still a tremendous leader and anchor for
the nation's third-ranked defense.
