Big 12 Game of the Week

South Florida 37 ... Kansas 34
South Florida's Nate Allen picked off a Todd Reesing pass to set 43-yard Maikon Bonani field goal as time expired to give the Bulls the thrilling win. Kansas dominated for most of the first half with Reesing running for a four-yard score and connecting with Jonathan Wilson for a 36-yard touchdown on the way to a 20-3 lead. And then USF got hot reeling off 31-straight points highlighted by a 21-yard Taurus Johnson juggling scoring catch, but KU rallied. Reesing marched the Jayhawks to a 78-yard drive finishing with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Wilson, and tied the game on a 14-yard pass to Angus Quigley. Reesing appeared to be on his way to a game-winning score before throwing the pick to Allen. The loss overshadowed a great game from KU's James Holt, who made 12.5 tackles, a sack, three tackles for loss and forced two fumbles.

Big 12 Player of the Week
Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford completed 18-of-21 passes for 304 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for a one-yard score in the win over Washington

Conference
Roundup

Baylor … Baylor running the ball? One of the nation's worst rushing teams over the last two seasons ripped up Washington State for 426 yards on the ground and 555 yards overall. After a blowout win over a real, live BCS conference team, and with the way Robert Griffin directed the attack to near perfection from the second quarter on, this really appears to be a new era under head coach Art Briles. Now the team has to prove that this week wasn't a fluke with a win at Connecticut next week.
Colorado … Didn’t Play This Week
Iowa State  … Iowa State had its chances against Iowa, but penalties in key moments, three interceptions and special teams proved to be the undoing. Phillip Bates was held in check running the ball, Iowa appeared ready for him, while Austen Arnaud threw well outside of his two interceptions. This might not have been the big breakout game the Cyclones were hoping for, but the defense kept a relatively hot offense in check.
Kansas … Todd Reesing will be kicking himself for the rest of the year for the one bad pick he threw at the end of the South Florida loss. It's unfortunate because he had a fantastic game under tremendous pressure. The KU offensive line had an awful second half, while the defensive line didn't do anything to generate pressure. USF QB Matt Grothe had ten days to throw in the second half and picked the Jayhawk secondary apart. KU looked slow, ineffective in the running game, and a step short defensively, but it had the chance to rally and win and blew it.
Kansas State … Didn’t Play This Week
Missouri … Nevada is a good team that could end up challenging for the WAC title, and Missouri ripped through the Pack defense like it wasn't even there. Chase Daniel is in a zone. He's not making mistakes, he's hitting his playmakers in places where they can do something with the passes, and he's moving well. The defense didn't let Nevada get in the game, while the offense did a great job of dropping the hammer in the second quarter to pull away. There's one more tune-up, coming next week against Buffalo, before dealing with Nebraska.
Nebraska … The only knock on the win over New Mexico State is on the play in the red zone. The Huskers had three empty trips inside the Aggie 20, but other than that, this was an efficient, easy win over a rested team with a dangerous passing attack. This was a huge test for a much-maligned Nebraska secondary, and it passed with flying colors. Now everyone can turn the full focus on the Virginia Tech game.
Oklahoma Total and complete domination. Oklahoma was the far better team than Washington, and it played like it from the start and never let up. With near-perfect offensive balance, explosion, and consistency, the OU quarterbacks completed 19-of-24 passes and the running game averaged 5.8 yards per carry, this was impressive. The defense was strong at getting into the backfield with four sacks. Penalties were the only issues, committing 11 for 110 yards.
Oklahoma State Alright, we know Oklahoma State can run the ball. Missouri State was nothing more than a light breeze defensively, and once again the Cowboy offensive line was dominant as it paved the way for 450 rushing yards. The backups not only got meaningful playing time, but they produced as well as the starters. The domination was impressive, but for a game this easy, there shouldn’t have been 13 penalties for 130 yards.
Texas … Didn’t Play This Week
Texas A&M … Didn’t Play This Week
Texas Tech… The penalties keep on coming. Yes, the offense needed to show it really does work with a blowout game against SMU, and yes Graham Harrell appeared to be back on track again, but there were 8 penalties for 61 yards for a team that’s having issues at keeping the mistakes to a minimum. Overall, through, this was the wipeout needed to get Michael Crabtree rolling and to open up the passing game. Now it all has to continue.
