The University of Georgia will open its 2009 football campaign on ABC Sports.

The University of Georgia will open its 2009 football campaign on ABC Sports. The Bulldogs will tangle with Oklahoma State on September 5th at 3:30 PM.

The game marks the Bulldogs 69th all time appearance on the network. Georgia has a 42-24-2 record playing on ABC. Mark Richt's squad has won two out of the last three televised games.

ABC carried Georgia's wins in 2008 over Arizona State, 2007 win over Georgia Tech, and the Sugar Bowl loss to West Virginia in 2005.

Dooley To Receive Bryant Award

Former University of Georgia Head Coach and Athletic Director, Vince Dooley has been named the 2010 recipient of Paul "Bear" Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dooley served as head football coach at the University of Georgia from December, 1963, to Jan. 1, 1988, and as Director of Athletics from 1979-2004. Dooley is the most successful coach in Georgia history.

He guided the Bulldogs to a career record of 201-77-10 becoming only the ninth coach in NCAA Division I history to win over 200 games. The Bulldogs won one national championship (1980) and 6 SEC Championships under his direction.

Dooley will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Paul Bear Bryant College Football Coaching Awards Dinner Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 in Houston, TX at the conclusion of the season.
