A proposition by Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal has LSU looking further at sending employees home in light of the states proposed 34 million dollar budget cut for the university.

LSU Chancellor Mike Martin is strongly considering the leaves of absences for faculty and all contracted coaches in light of the economic depression, despite the $11.1 million dollar infusion from the SEC last week.

Tiger head coach Les Miles says he is fine with the idea of saving money, but notes he works everyday. Miles told Tiger fans that he would keep working, inferring he would work for free.

“I can tell you this, I work every day, and that's not going to change...period,” says Miles.

LSU is looking at a model used by PAC 10 member Arizona State. The Sun Devils have furloughed Dennis Erickson, and saved more than $20K of his salary.

Projections are that LSU would keep from paying Miles $62K dollars of his $3.75 million dollar salary with time off. The proposal would find the Tigers coaching staff giving up more than $108K of salary.
