The summer conditioning drills are taking SEC players off depth charts.

By: BE Coleman

The summer conditioning drills are taking SEC players off depth charts during the month of June. Last week Tennessee lost a top name, this week finds LSU has lost one of it’s new play makers in the off season.

WR Tim Molton will miss the 2009 season due to a knee injury that occurred during non-contact drills.

After an impressive spring finds the 6’2” 171 lb. Molton will now redshirt. He signed with LSU as a three star rated prospect by Scout, Inc in 2008.

He was a key player that QB Jordan Jefferson had excelled with during their prep days leading Destrehan High to a state championship in ‘07.

Molton played on the Tigers scouting team during '08 and did not participate during the regular season. He figured in heavily this season as the Tigers depth chart has no proven talent behind the three projected starters.

LSU – Washington On ESPN

LSU will open its 2009 season with a west coast visit to Washington. The Tigers and Huskies game is set for a 10:30 PM EST kickoff from Seattle on ESPN.

The two football programs met previously in 1983 that saw a 40-14 Tiger win in Baton Rouge.

Tigers Retire Casanova Jersey

LSU has decided to retire a second football jersey. The announcement to retire the jersey of Tommy Casanova was a unanimous decision. He is the only three-time All American in the history of LSU football and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Casanova joins Billy Canon as the only two LSU players to have their jersey’s retired in Tiger Football history.
