Bama QB Pondering Transfer

Alabama quarterback Star Jackson is contemplating transferring from the Crimson Tide’s football program with the intention of no return.

Former high school coach, Erik Lowe told the Mobile Register that Jackson has met with Nick Saban. "As of right now, he's looking for a transfer," says Lowe.

It is suspected that Saban will release Jackson to play at an FCS program according to Lowe.

Georgia State, who is adding football under its first ever head coach in Bill Curry, is a mentioned name that the former prep coach is lobbying. Curry, a former head coach at Georgia Tech, Alabama and Kentucky would like to get Jackson.

He could play immediately transferring down from a FBS program for the Panthers, who will visit the Red Elephants in Tuscaloosa on November 20th.

Jackson has endured problems while camped at Alabama.

He was suspended during the spring for academic issues. Saban informed the news media at that time of own his thoughts surrounding the suspension.

"If my kid was doing what he was doing, I wouldn't let him play either. I'd make him get his school work right just like my dad did when I was in the eighth grade”.

He will quickly find that Bill Curry is an old school disciplinarian, built on core fundamentals that demands players to display outstanding character.

Jackson was highly touted when he signed with Alabama in 2008, rated 3rd nationally by Scout, Inc. The four star rated quarterback from Florida was considered to be the eleventh best at his position.

While there were questions about his arm strength and his release, Jackson played in five games during the ‘09 campaign, completing 13 of 18 throws for 116 yards.
