Georgia hires Florida assistant to fill director position.

By: BE Coleman

Georgia went to Florida to get their next athletic director. Former Bulldog Greg McGarity has been hired away form the Gators.

McGarity was a logical choice when UGA president Michael Adams replaced Vince Dooley after exchanging heated words with Dooley. Yet it was Adams who bypassed the former student, athlete, and loyal assistant in favor of Damon Evans in 2003.

The school began its search for a new athletic director after the embarrassing and scandalous DUI arrest of a married Evans accompanied by a younger woman whose red panties were tucked between Evans legs.

Florida has acknowledged the hiring, while Georgia is waiting until Friday to make the announcement according to several sources.

McGarity has been at Florida since 1992, after striking up a relationship with current Gator AD Jeremy Foley when both were assistants.

His present title at Florida is executive senior associate athletic director to Foley.
